Aladdin Disney Family Movie Night

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday season with your families. It was great having the kids home over winter break and was tough trying to get back into the groove of things this week! We’re expected to have rain this whole week as well so the weather isn’t helping! I just want to stay in and read and watch movies with the kids!

Speaking of movies, I’m sharing with you our Aladdin Disney family movie night we had before our most recent trip to Disneyland.

Aladdin Disney Family Movie Night

I printed a bunch of games, puzzles and coloring pages from Disney’s Aladdin page for the kids to work on while I got our dinner started. They have a ton of great printables and craft ideas to go along with the movie. When they were finished with those, we moved onto our craft for the movie. We made our own magic carpets. Before I picked the kids up from school, I ran into Hobby Lobby quickly to pick up the supplies.

You’ll need:

Felt sheet colors of your choice

Ribbon

Scissors

School glue

My daughter chose to make the magic carpet large enough that her Jasmine doll could sit on it. She cut the felt into a rectangle and added a few more rectangle layers out of different colors. She then cut pieces of ribbon to make a border and glued them onto the felt. She wanted to added some tassels to the corners, so we took a piece of the ribbon and carefully pulled it apart a bit on one end to make a frayed edge and then glued it underneath the large rectangle felt piece. It was a very simple project but so fun! She loves flying Jasmine around!

For dinner I wanted to keep it simple, so to go along with the movie theme we had a my version of a Middle Eastern party platter. We had grilled chicken, pitas, cucumbers, carrots, olives, apples and hummus. Since it was a gorgeous night, we had our dinner on the patio.

I didn’t have any special dessert for this night planned, so we just made our favorite homemade stove top popcorn. The kids really enjoyed the movie and loved singing along to all of the songs!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. This looks like so much fun! We absolutely love Disney movies and have themed nights based on whatever we are watching. These ideas will be used in our house soon!
